A Rhyming Riddle that Rattles

I have neither claw nor tooth,

but am known for my bite

I can jump to tree or roof

or catch a flying kite

When your walls shake as trees,

I rend the sky before your eyes,

and down you hide, for licked by me

and you might die.

What am I?
