About the Author

I am a programmer by day, and writer by night. Writing while working a full time job may not be what I consider the most comfortable, but that is the reality of the situation. I’m happily married to a wonderful wife who gets more attractive every day. I have two boys, the oldest is three, the youngest is one. I live and work on an 80 acre plot of land. We run cattle, goats, and a dog kennel. We plant and harvest a large garden every year. I’m a city boy that has grown ever-so attached to the country. I couldn’t imagine a better place to raise my children.

For now, my dream is to work from home, be it writing or programming. And of course, it would be nice to make a couple of bucks while I am at it. My goal, like probably so many other people, is to be my own boss. Maybe writing will get me there, maybe not.

I write because I want to write. I don’t write to make other people happy, and I’m not trying to impress any body with my extensive ability to use a thesaurus. I write what appeals to me, and, then, I run it over with a lawn mower when I edit. I don’t always take the easy path in writing. For example, for my story-in-a-story approach, I could have chosen myself as the narrator. That would have been too easy (and a bit unrealistic). Instead, I decided to let the character telling the story be the narrator. That means a WHOLE BUNCH of DIALOG. As writers, you’ll note that dialog is not the easiest thing to write. So, I don’t just write to have fun and take the easy way out. I write to challenge myself and to grow as a writer. Fortunately, I find challenges and growth fun and rewarding.
